Unfortunately, the Open Days for Reception 2025 have already taken place. However, if you would still like to visit our wonderful school, please contact the school office as we are more than happy to give you a tour and answer any questions you may have.

Worship

Worship is a central part of school life at Lady Katherine Leveson.  There are both  spontaneous opportunities for spiritual development through reflection, discussion and harnessing curiosity and a carefully planned provision of daily opportunities for prayer and worship.

We have an act of Collective Worship every day, to which every child within the school is invited to attend.

Monday Whole School Collective Worship
Tuesday Class  Collective Worship
Wednesday Psalm Collective Worship
Thursday Collective worship in church
Friday Celebration Service

Each half term, the underlying theme of our Collective Worship is linked to a Christian value.

All teaching and ideas are Christian and follow the teachings of the Bible, which are explored and made relevant to life today. All acts of worship have a Bible story or Bible passage as its focus.

The Leader creates a welcoming and inviting atmosphere conducive to worship, by:

  • Playing worship or quiet reflective music on arrival
  • Displaying an image, quote or question to engage the children in the theme.
  • The hall is set up with an ‘altar table’ as a focus for worship: Table cloth, (which is the correct colour for the liturgical calendar), cross and candles.
  • We welcome the children by lighting the candle and by saying an Anglican liturgical greeting /prayer (The Lord be with you…)
  • We ensure the children always have a role within the worship.
  • Singing forms part of our worship
  • There is time for children to be still and silent to reflect and think about the key thoughts and or the Bible message.
  • Children are given opportunity to pray, either personally (silently) or out loud as a group or on behalf of the other children.
  • The children go out with a thought, verse, prayer or question to enable them to continue their thinking and spur them into action (when appropriate) following the worship session
  • We close with an Anglican liturgical sending prayer (Such as ‘Go in peace to love and serve the Lord’) and extinguish the candles.

Additionally, we have a Collective Worship Council, who help to lead our services and review our collective worship.

Our School Prayer

This is our school.
Let peace be here.
Let the rooms be full of joy.
Let love abide here.
Love of one another, love of humankind, love of life itself and love of God.
Let us remember that as many hands build a house, so many hearts make a school.
Amen.
